Not a lot of use but the mate to it died within a couple weeks. I replaced that with a new one today. They are mounted horizontal and I see no specifics for position. Fixture is rated for 100 watt inc and these are LED equivalant. At $14+, not exactly cheap.

Do LEDs have a position preference?

Those '100 watt' LED's are HEAVY! They put out a bunch of light, but I could see the weight being an issue if mounted horizontally.

If the arent marked, I would presume they can be mounted in any position and not affect its lifespan. Are the LEDs all around the bulb, or just on one side? All around, Id think up or down, on one side, horizontal.

Is that fixture open at the top? It looks to be, so I cant imagine heat build up was the cause of the failure.

Yes, it is open.

The cracks pretty much go all around the lamp.

This one still works, just LLH.

Wow. Did it get dropped?
If not, then a sign of bad design which may have extended to the electronics too.

I put them in new and noticed nothing that would indicate them being dropped. The first lamp just quit working with no theatrics. This was still working.
