baseboard heater

I install a lot of baseboard heaters. Customers complain about the wall above the heaters turning black. Does anyone have an insight into this chronic problem?

The black is generally airborne dirt depositing itself on the wall surface above the heaters.

Suggest they clean house more frequently. :grin:

Same thing happens with the A/C vents in the ceilings in the southland. Restaruants are the worst.

I noticed some people actually put a bead of caulk on the edge above the heater, it said to help keep the the turning black down. I believe it works.
