If one baseboard heater is 2000 watts at 240 volts then how many watts if hooked to 120/208v 3 phase.......? I get 1,502 watts using my uglys ohms law equations..... Am I correct?
Since P=V^2/R and R isconstant, the watts produced will be 2000 x (208/240)^2. That is 1502.Close enough. I get 1700 watts and change using 208V and my meeger math skills.
What's the reason for the figuring?
Has anybody out there in Cali tried to pass a multiple choice exam or done a NEC load calc?Since P=V^2/R and R isconstant, the watts produced will be 2000 x (208/240)^2. That is 1502.
It is always better to get the right answer regardless of the reason.
