Bath fan install

I have an "old" farmhouse that is plank construction-no stud walls, just vertical 2 1/2 thick planks for 2 stories. I want to install a through the wall fan in the wall that is adjacent to my attached garage. Can I supply the fan in conduit up the garage wall or is there a better solution? The fan has it own switch. Thanks, Denny

I'm not sure if you are asking if you can cut a 10" or so hole throgh a few of these boards or are asking about running conduit or both. If you are going to cut a hole of this size, [10-12"] that would sever one or more of these boards in part or entireity, I would seek out an architect or engineer that would give their blessing to such an installation.
