Bathroom Hand Dryers

You won't find anything specific dealing with bathroom hand dryers in the NEC.

Are you asking if they need to be GFCI protected?

By the way welcome to the forum.:)

Most hand dryers are hard-wired anyway, so GFI protection would not be required.

Unless the installation instructions require it.;)

It's been about 4 years since I installed any, and I can't recall the instructions requiring it. Of course, my memory's not what it used to be.

I think the last ones I did install were 208V anyway. But my memory's not what it used to be.

The reason that I asked the OPer if they were asking about GFCI protection is that that is the most common asked question I get about hand dryers located in a bathroom.:)

Chris

Thanks

Thanks

Thanks for the welcome and response. I was looking to see if I could install them with external power cords (6 feet or less) and if they had to be located away from the sink by any distance. Because it is a bathroom I would want it on a GFCI.

Again Thanks
