What is the formula for Recharging Time of batteries (UPS) having the UPS load (KW), DC charger voltage, charger ampacity, and discherge time? If the discharge time is 3 hours, what is the approximate recharge time to 90% and full charge?. Can betteries with 4 hours rundown time be rechargered within 12 hours?

All this info should be in the users manual. With large UPS's you can get most of this from scrolling through the menu. It helps if you can read German.:wink:

Traditionally, the magic number for charging batteries is 10%; charge at 10% of the AH capacity. A 72AH battery, for example, charge at 7.2a.

It's entirely down to the UPS; how much current it chooses to put back into the batteries. Larry's right, 10% isn't a bad rule of thumb.
