battery backup sump pumps

A customer of mine is requesting battery backups on his sump pumps. Any recommendations? He would like some sort of alarm or chime also. Can this alarm sound when power is lost as well as to warn him that power had been lost but is now restored when he arrives home? How long do these batteries last? Anything I might be missing? Thanks

They can last forever if you have enough money a simple relay system will trip an alarm to tell you anything you need to know about power conditions.
