Battery Charger Circuit for Backup Generator

Doing a TI that already has an existing generator. One of the panels I need to Demo feeds the battery charger on the backup generator.

I will be moving this charger circuit to temp power.

Question is will I need to have the generator commissioned when I put this on temp power?

I’m thinking no because I will be having a start up test on the generator with the manufacturer when I am 100% done with the project.

Any thoughts??

Unless it's an emergency backup legally required system I don't know why you would need to commission an existing generator just because you refed a battery charger.

Charger doesn’t care where it gets power, as long as it’s 24 hour. Generator doesn’t care either as long as the battery stays charged.
