Battery Room Lighting

A battery room with lead acid batteries racked with a roon vebt fan:

1. Do I need the lighting fixture to be rated for Class III, Group B?
2. Are the conduits "PVC coated RGS" or "LFMC"?
3. Should the light fixture be on its own home run?

I've wired several telecom battery rooms with lead acid batteries, and every one was done in EMT and normal ol' light fixtures.

Regular everything.
If it was hazardous, nobody would be able to go in there unprotected.
Also if hazardous, there would be hydrogen detection and a fan if there was an unintended buildup.

What about the first 18" above ground at a gas station? PPE required by customers at self-serve stations? What about the pits in fast oil change places?

I have seen EMT rot right off the wall of re-charging rooms. I would check with the local AHJ for advice. If he wants a better grade of conduit I think it would be a wise choice. CYA is the best defense in most cases.
