We do quite a bit of DC work for communication companies and we install large battery strings.

What do you guys use to lift the batteries in headend rooms on raised floors.

We lift them with a modified table lift, but there should be a lift designed for this for use in close quarters.

Anyone have any ideas?

That would seem so, but these buildings don't ususlly have loading docks and the raised floors cant always take the weight.

These strings can be 4-5000 lbs each.

Most are up on houskeeping pads so they have to be lifted.

They usually get stacked one layer at a time.
Sometimes just the frame and then the batteries are slid in after.

Look in the grangers catalog unsure material handling. I own two hydraulic lifts with foot pumps they also come inane electrical version. We had them modified with 1/4 steel plate for sliding the batteries onto the rails. I am slammed at present but if I get a minute I'll try to locate a part number
