Code gives a guide where to put smoke and heat detectors when there are beam pockets,

but what about CO detectors?

There is a boiler room with a lot of beams, I need to put smoke, heat and CO detectors in the boiler room.

So where is a guide for placing CO detectors on beam pockets?

I don't think CO movement in the space is that predictable like hot/warm smoke. That is why NFPA 72 has language like
17.14.5
The location of carbon monoxide detectors shall be based on an evaluation of potential ambient sources and flows of carbon monoxide, moisture, temperature, dust, or fumes and of electrical or mechanical influences to minimize nuisance alarms.

17.14.6
The selection and placement of carbon monoxide detectors shall take into account both the performance characteristics of the detector and the areas into which the detectors are to be installed to prevent nuisance and unintentional alarms or improper operation after installation.

sorry forgot to reply. So in other words what they are saying is "use your best judgement"?

Grasshopper must specify installer follow listed CO unit instructions.

CO device instructions vary by manufacturer. Some stand alone units are required near the floor, below 4ft, while other combo units can be mounted on ceilings.

Never seen listed instruction for CO devices require placement at highest point in the room for rising smoke, only smokes require that.
