Last week I got a tremendous amount of information from several of you on Article 645. More specifically, regarding the wisdom of utilizing 645 and therefore having an EPO in your data center.
I've since been thinking about the best alternative to Liquid Tight Flexible cable under the raised floor (not tied down in per 645 exception) and would be interested in your input on the subject.
It seems to me that there are two very important criteria here. 1 - finding a cabling method which caters to the dynamic nature of data centers. 2 - addressing the concern for leakage from CRU's and the effects this could have on wiring under the floor.
It strikes me that MC cable supported in accordance with Article 300 and in cable tray (rather than sitting on the floor) is perhaps a good choice. The system would still be relatively flexible although the electrician would have to remove supports every 6 feet and then reinstall. It would also assure that the cables are never sitting in a puddle.
What say you?
Thanks,
Mike
