I have a small motor for an air compressor with 2 hot terminals and 1 neutral. Nameplate calls for 230v, 1ph, 24 amp. This unit was previously connected on a single/split phase 120/240 service. All I have is a 208Y/120 service to feed it now. If this unit didn't have a neutral, I know I would be fine. If I were to install a buck boost to get the 208v up to 230v and run a neutral from the panel, wouldn't the neutral throw off my phase angles? Is there a better way to achieve this?
