Beware Legrand Harmony dimmers with LED’s

Working on a house, and I have 3 sets of recessed lights that needed 3-way dimming.

I used this as the master dimmer,

With this as the companion dimmer,

I’m using Satco LED lamps, and below 70% they just flicker like crazy. Turning another dimmer off/on makes the other lights flicker for a second also. They are listed as LED compatible; their only advice was to try different lamps or a Tru-Universal dimmer.

I’ve tried three different brands of lamp and they all do it. I do have some of the standard Tru-Universal dimmers on single-pole circuits and they work just fine. So I’ve ordered more to replace the Harmony dimmers; the downside is that they are not multi-location dimming capable.

I’ve used the RF tru-universal dimmers with these lamps, as they are multi-location dimmable, but they are 3x the cost as a set.

The WiFi tru-universal dimmers are much cheaper, but I have several RF switches and a hub installed here already, and the WiFi switches are not compatible with the RFLC hub.

Anyway, just a warning that you might want to stay away from these dimmers.

Most LED manufacturers have a list of known-compatible dimmers. Check Satco's website.

I did a quick look. You'll find no joy there. Also, no three-way dimmers at all that I could find.

I’ve yet to see any lamp manufacturers list Legrand as a compatible dimmer, and Legrand doesn’t list any specific lamps as compatible.

I don’t know why that is, and I know I always assume the risk.

The Tru-Universal dimmers came in today, and they worked just fine. Those dimmers use a neutral, while the Harmony dimmers do not. The downside is no remote location dimming.
