"Beware of cheap knockoffs" goes without saying, but let me share this past weeks adventure with you.
We did a small poco sponsored lighting upgrade for a commercial customer. It involved taking down 9 400-W MH low bays and replacing them with 4-lamp, 54 W HO T-Bays. The T-Bays were "Archipelago" brand, assembled in China with an Advance Ballast, bought from a local wholesale supplier.
We installed the lights, and within a day 4 of the 9 fixtures failed. In disgust, and rather than try to troubleshoot the fixtures, we took them all down and replaced them with Cresent/Stonco brand T-bays. No problems and they are all working fine.
Lesson learned (again) that you get what you pay for.
