Here is the job I lost. I bid $850 which I thought was low but its been a slow week. The other guy got the job for $700 and the HO asked if I would do it for that and I said NO THANKS.
1) Come out of the indoor garage panel with 2-120V 20A circuits that are going to feed an electric fence opener and 4 coach lights 80' from the panel. Along the 80' path you will have to trench you will have to go under a 3' wide sidewalk.
2) One of the circuits you run to the column that the fence opener will be mounted on will feed 4 coach lights that you have to wire up.
3) The 2nd circuit will feed a GFCI recep. with an in use cover plate.
4) Install an empty 1/2 pvc 20' long where the driveway will be poured to be used for the control wiring of the fence.
What would some of you have bid?

Your bid is to low. You have to figure it will take 2 men 8 hours that's 16 man hours and you hope your going to complete it in that time.
Labor alone would be$800.00
Some times the best jobs are the ones you don't get.

A lot depends on the soil. Here in FL that might be 2 man hours or all day.I would hire a day laborer to dig it.That would change your profit level drastically
