Bidding Off A Set Of Prints

Need some suggestions on bidding off a set of prints. Residential room addition. Customer needs an answer fairly quickly, but I'm actually busy for once, don't have a lot of time to devote to the prints like I normally would. Adding a Kitchen, M-Bedroom w/ bathroom, 1 additional bedroom, living room, den, laundry room, and a 200amp service upgrade. Any suggestions?

Just do the take off and bid the print 30 minutes in the morning to read and 1 hour after work tomorrow to take off and bid. You are busy now but in 3 weeks or so when this project is a go you may be slow do the bid!

If you've done a lot of work like this in the past, figure out an average $/sqft and then make % adjustment up or down depending on how difficult you think it might be.

or,

Assuming your bidding to a GC, find out from him what the total project cost is, and use a reasonable % of total cost for electrical.

Punch both numbers and then do a sanity check as to what feels right. that's about as quick and dirty as it gets.

From what I've heard this number is usually about 10%
