I'll do it for $34,999 if the electrical service is already there.

Sound about right. Did you factor in extra for being good looking? I usually add a 25% premium for it myself, and nobody ever questions it on the bill.

Has anyone bid a 3500 SF dunkin' donuts before? If so what was your price?

it's a tough call...bid due tomorrow, don't want the job (but want to be just a little high) and don't feel like doing a takeoff? been there...

knowing what's in them, all the dedicated lines and special receptacles...I would be in the neighborhood of $50,000 including the service (but not the underground feed)...most of them have a 300A or 400A 3PH 208/120V service...3 panels...

2-3 dozen 2x4 layins (fixtures not included)

bunch of track lights (fixtures not included)

and the equipment...most of them are strictly in MC and not that neat...

good luck.

Well I put my bid together already worked on it for a long while. The building is already there service is in the basement and will have to run feeds to two panels. emahler sounds like you have done a few. only 14 lay in 2x 4' in this one no tracks and a bunch of cans. I just didn't want to be one of those lowballers since thats been being discussed around here. I do want the job and will be turning in my bid tomarrow.

So anyone do any 70,000 SF grocery stores? I know what they get done for around here a friend of mine is the man in charge of construction for a large chain in the Indianapolis area. lets see what your prices are on something that scale. I'll not be doing something like that for a very long time if ever.

My Bid

My Bid

I bid a deal similar to DD about four years ago. Didn't include the meter gear, main disconnect it was already there. So just the stuff inside. Price was right @ 27K (remember this was before the big CU $$ we saw). Didn't get it. Another guy was @29.6K. The guy who got the job was @18K. I even had another EC review my bid so I know I was in the right ballpark.

Just couldn't take the 9,000 "loss."

Learned (about a year later) from another EC who did some small pick-up work on a resi job for the GC with that job that they wound up paying about 25K to the lowballer after all was said and done.

48,999 high but this is Indiana.

About 3 years ago they were going for around $380,000 around here. That did not include site lighting and this particular brand of store furnished the switchgear, generator and lighting package.

Also, all control work for freezers and refrigeration was by others.

Hope that helps.
