Purchasing a Blackberry for work.
I checked a Curve and it's view of this site and the NFPA site, and it seems to abbreviate the website into an unusable blob of text.
Is the Storm any different, allowing the viewing of a website like I would on a PC, just smaller?
What is this feature called so I would know to ask the salesmen.

Blackberries were the cat's meow 5 years ago but thier software and apps have not kept up, do you self a favor and get a Droid.

I was thinking of a Droid or a Palm Pre-Plus but I really don't know how they differ. I know they both have a much bigger (more useful) screen than a Blackberry.

My Palm Z22 is strictly a PDA with no phone and I'm sick of carting around two devices. I haven't looked lately but I'm waiting for the smart phones to have the feature where I can scribble notes with a stylus.

Try the Melon app on the Droid. It has voice recognition and it works unbelievably well.

I have a Droid and thought twice about the Google connection. I'm at the age I don't really care what they find out.

Basically Google keeps all information they can obtain about you and how you use their services. At least that is my understanding. Turn on the GPS locator and they know where you are and what places you vist. Probably how fast you got there & how long you stayed.

i have a tour and previously had a curve; had no problems accessing this site from either.

i thought my curve was actually a bit faster running programs.

i've used the iphone and droid (both motorola and HTC) and much prefer my blackberry to either. i could've bought an htc droid for less than what i paid for my newest blackberry and still decided against it.

if you're sole purpose for a smartphone is to use the internet, then a droid would be a better choice. you need to decide what your main priorities in a smart phone are and go from there.

i use a program called 'tether' with my blackberry. it works just fine, but runs only about 512kbps. My brothers htc droid connects @ 2.5mbps while tethering. But 512kbps works fine for general browsing and e-mailing documents on the road.

Like I said, if internet is your main concern the droid is the best hands down.

Just picked up a Palm Pre Plus today. I have 30 days to figure out if I like it. I expect it will take 60 days to decide as I am a rookie at these smart phones. I am familiar with the old Palm Pilots but that probably will only help a little

In Silicon Valley, those who don't work there regard Palm
as the walking dead. Return it or be stuck with an Edsel.

Blackberry was the traditional choice, but there seem to be
far more apps coming out on both iPhone and Android,
including some electrical apps, even if they have a way to
go.
