Blacklight for industrial application

I've installed a 8' tandem t12 fixture on a insulation laminating machine and it's taking a beating. The current setup is using 40w T12's and puts off a great amount of light for the application but is constantly getting bumped into. I have been looking at LED's but there are 2 concerns. 1st is light output and second is some sort of cover or protection would be required to prevent glue buildup on the led's. I need to cover 8' distance and it has to be sturdy yet compact. The single bulb vaportights I've found online required odd length bulbs and having to use uv/blacklight bulbs I would like to stick to standard 4' length if at all possible. If I am unable to find a cost effective solution I might just go with getting someone to weld a bump guard of sorts. Thanks for the input and I'm not sure why but the return key doesn't work allowing me to space this thread for easier reading. :?

I have the tube guards installed to protect from glue and shattering but the sockets seem to be the problem. Workers walk between the machine and the sockets get bent from getting bumped into. Possibly something like this
