To put this in perspective, in 1925,

A team of Siberian Huskies won the 'race of mercy', delivering antitoxin to diphtheria-threatened Nome, Alaska. This gave rise to the world-renowned sled-dog competition called Iditarod.
Lawyers Clarence Darrow went head-to-head against William Jennings Bryan in the so-called Scopes Monkey Trial.
Col. William "Billy" Mitchell is found guilty of insubordination for being a champion and advocate of air power in the military.
Charlie Chaplin elicits laughs and tears as America's favorite tramp in The Gold Rush.
Knute Rockne lifts Notre Dame from obscurity, beating Stanford 27-10 in the Rose Bowl.

It took me a few moments of reading before I realized these sentences were not intended to be related.

Boy I did not even know the NEC went back that far

Our equivalent code here in the U.K. was first published way back in 1882, under the catchy title of "Rules & Regulations for the Prevention of Fire Risks arising from Electric Lighting."
