I have four brothers no sisters. My one brother still lives here in PA. The other night He and his boy stopped down at my garage to borrow a laser level. After leaving my place and only going about a half mile he said he swerved to miss a dear. He took out the neighbor?s mailbox and swerved again to miss a large tree. At this point he slammed the breaks and his foot jammed between the brake and the gas pedal and the gas pedal went to the floor.

He shot across the road and cut a utility pole in half. I live about three miles from the power co. so these poles are large supporting a high primary and also supporting a lower primary.
The transformer to the neighbor?s house was also on this pole. On impact the pole moved enough away from the neighbors house to snap his two-inch rigid service mast off his house. He and his son were both wearing seat belts and all the trucked suffered was a small dent in his hood a small dent above the driver?s door and his bumper was pretty much trashed.

After pulling the bumper away from the front tire with the tractor I called the local electrical supplier who was at home because he already closed for the day, he opened up for us and we had his service repaired before the power company finished setting a new pole and new transformer.

My brother and son not a scratch.

Re: Blessed

Blessed, debateable.
Lucky, absolutely.
I grew up in the PA mountains and was always taught- never swerve to miss a deer. Too much is at stake.

Re: Blessed

i LIVE IN A RURAL AREA WITH LOTS OF DEER, MY DAD TAUGHT ME TO, TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS, FIRM GRIP ON THE WHEEL AND HIT THE DEER. I myself have had to try this on 3 seperate occasions and with the obvious ,damage to the vehicle, no one was injured.
