Good Evening

Can anyone please let me know (advantages and disadvantages) if blue flex conduit “smurf pipe” is suitable to be used inside the tunnel area (exposed to water) of a carwash building. How does it match up to metallic conduit or PVC depending on the approved application. At the moment, I have a GC and an EC going back and forth and i want to make sure i can give them some kind of guidance. Thanks

Type ENT Article 362

Permitted for 'wet locations indoors'.
Not generally permitted to be 'exposed' or 'subject to physical damage'.

Without more detail to clarify I'd say it's not allowed in that situation.

I think you could route it so that it's not really subject to physical damage.

I would want to look up the definition of exposed and see where they plan to route it inside the car wash tunnel before I would say it is definitively prohibited.

I don't know how much you think this is going to save you over just running PVC or some kind of other conduit. My guess is most of the cost of running conduit in such an area is labor.
