The following link below is to a local installations and check list and wiring schematic for private boat docks. The small company I work for is going to apply to get us on the approved electrical contractors list to wire boat docks on this body of water. Ameren is the local utility.

I don't have any questions except I'm posting this as a reference for the forums, as I see very little on boat dock wiring literature and documents outside the NEC articles when doing a search. So I hope this isn't inappropriate.

I would like any comments from those of you who take the time to read the requirements of the below link as to anything that you may find questionable. I have read through it and do not find any glaring issues. But I do not have the experience and knowledge of so many here. I posted on the grounding and bonding forum as this is most likely the area for questions in this type installation.

Read NEC 2005 ART #682 very carefully. It does infact cover residential boat docks and floating stuctures.
Can't read the attachments sorry.

Cavie, I know this is a thorn in your side, but...

682.3 Other Articles

...If the water is subject to boat traffic, the wiring shall comply with 555.13(B).

555.1 Scope

Private, noncommercial docking facilities constructed or occupied for the use of the owner or residents of the associated single-family dwelling are not covered by this article.

Go figure

Yep! complying with 682 will drive you to drink. 555.13 (B) deals with overhead wireing. and since 555 has and exclusion for residntial docks..........Who's on first!!!
