I have been asked to quote wiring on a boathouse. The service will originate in a panel at the house. I am planning on running pvc and pulling 3 #2 (2 hot/1 neut) and a ground. Should I drive a ground rod @ the boat house for a grounding electrode? Should the main feed brkr be GFI? It will be a 60 amp brkr feeding a 100amp MBP.

Re: Boathouse service

Wayne the main circuit breaker does not have to be gfi protected. . I have done a lot of work in marinas and find 555 code section to be very usefull. This is the section that pertains to the application have. I would suggest you reads it very thoroughly as load calcs can be somewhat tricky and it also gives you the answer s you need to complete your project. If I can help give me a shout.. Joe
