Boiler Emergency Shut Off

Can anyone refer me to the specific code requiring an emergency shut off for boilers. Does this apply to gas furnaces as well?

427.55-.57 doesn't say anything about emergency shut off, but I don't know if this is the correct article

424.19 doesn't seem to say anything about emergency shut off either

maybe this is in the mechanical code ?

I've seen it before, but I can't remember where.

I think it might be the mechanical code, or even the IBC.
