The Mechanical Code ASME CSD-1 requires to provide a disconnecting means capable of being locked in the open position to be installed adjacent to the boiler. Also, requires a manually operated remote shutdown switch or circuit breaker to be installed and located just outside the boiler room. The gas boiler is powered from 120V circuit. My question, I?m planning on providing a disconnect switch (as a remote shutdown switch) outside the room with home run to the panelboard. Then, this remote disconnect switch will be feeding the other disconnect switch that is located adjacent to the equipment and powering the boiler. Does this installation meet this requirement? can a toggle switch be used as a disconnect swich? Thanks,

I don't see why not, as long as the switch rating is suitable for the load it will handle.
