So maybe kind of a crazy question... I've been doing a lot of reading and my UL Listing senses are tingling...

Doing a 6 ft. piece of 1/2" LFMC and because I'm certifiably crazy, started looking for a listed strap for LFMC.
I seen that there have been debates about this on the forum before. I happened to come across this guy and just thought I'd share it...

First time I've come across a strap that's actually for LFMC (according to the description). Typically we just use conduit hangers.

Then my insanity really kicked in and I started to wonder if one would be required to BOND this metallic strap to the rest of the system.
Upon the beginning of said insanity, I found this Raco LFMC Connector w/ an external bonding.. um, apparatus? lol

I guess I'm just going a little bit nuts here wondering (1) if bonding this metal strap to the rest of the system would technically be required by code... and (2) how in the hell one would go about doing it in an approved manner.

The only thing I can think of is (1) use this apparently LFMC listed strap, (2) use the raco connector w/ external bonding apparatus, (3) use the appropriate wire type (which I don't even know what that would be for exposure to open air, weather), and (4) somehow land that jumper on this LFMC strap....

Thoughts?

Does the fact that this strap (and others like it) are NOT "intended to serve" as the ground fault current path exempt it from a bonding requirement?

It doesn't need to be bonded because it's not likely to be energized.

The bonding connector allows a conductor to supplement the sheath.

I figured I was being crazy about this... I just read a previous thread where someone was talking about the wrong strap cutting into the liquid tight and becoming energized and it started me on this war path, lol.

I agree with the others it is not required to be bonded. If there really is a concern about the racaeway being cut into by the strap then use LFMC.
