Installed a sub-panel off of Service Panel. 1-1/4"EMT from outdoor panel, Hub in the top, Surface mounted indoor sub-panel.

Pulled EGC from Service Panel to sub-panel, separated EGC from Grounded conductor in sub-panel.

Inspector required bonding bushing at sub-panel with concentric knock-outs.

I did not argue but I do not agree, am I wrong?

It does not sound like they where required.

It was not a service raceway and it was not over 250 volts to ground.

You did not even have to run an EGC if you did not want to.

bonding bushing?

bonding bushing?

What is the voltage at the service? 120/240, 208Y/120 ? 480Y/277, 600/347 ?

I'm assuming it's under 250v.

Bonding bushings are not required by the 2005 NEC since
the sub-panel is not service equipment and its under 250vac.

I would suggest reviewing Article 250, especially 250.92(A)and(B),and 250.97.

I would caution that even though it may not require bonding bushings per the 2005 NEC, there may be a local requirement.

I like the fact that IWIRE pointed out that you didn't need an EGC of the wire type since your raceway selection was EMT.

From my understanding of the 2005 NEC, you are correct and the inspector is wrong. Depending on how many and the cost of the bushings would determine
whether or not I would argue with the inspector.

If you wanted be a smart a#@ to the inspector you could pull out the EGC
and see if he or she still requires the bonding bushings. Keep in mind 250.118 .
Although unless its really worth it , I would put the bushings on.

Hopefully I was some help, I'm new to the forum and I think it is a great thing.
