I have a question about bonding a hot tub/spa. I know the rules concerning that but have a question concerning a particular install.
How would you comply with running a #8 around the perimeter of a spa if it's on a wooden deck 20' off the ground? Also, why would you even need to have a perimeter bond in such a senerio?
I'm running into a lot of questionable things with these spas since seems all the retailers are concerned with is the sale!
Usually they have either already poured a slab or set the spa on an existing concrete service. They don't call an electrician until they are ready to jump in. Then they look at you like a calf looking at a new gate when you tell them what all needs to be done to be compliant with the code.:happysad:
Worse than that is all the above ground pools that people are buying and they are told to just plug-n-play, even though the pools meet the definition of a permenant/in-ground pool.
Sorry, I just meant to ask a question, then the "inner rant" came out and took over!
