Bonding of all metal pipe

How long has the bonding of all metal pipe in a structure been in existance from a code perspective? 70's, 80's, 90's, etc??????

I do not know the exact answer - but in cases like this I can usually cross-date services and other equipment and identify an era/decade for some code changes etc....

So for this one I would have to say a bit earlier on - I am going to hazard to guess the late 40's - 50's for grounding. And say early 60's for other bonding pipe systems like hot water and gas etc.

I am sure people are scouring their old code books know....
