Location:
Chicago, IL; Two-Floor plant, Industrial Occupancy building (Boilers)
Situation:
Chicago Code, article 250.30(a)(3) requires me to connect "all metal pipping systems, metal duct system, structural steel or the reinforcing iron of concrete structures" that are not used as grounding electrodes to my grounding system.
Question:
Is this a one point connection? Meaning, should i connect the steel one time only or every time there's a discontinuity of the steel body (if there is any)? How far should I design this connections or this is something that the installation contractor will decide at the field?
Please correct me if I'm in the wrong path. Thanks
