Bonding of metal stands when a VDF is mounted to it.

I have a wonderful question concerning bonding of a metal/strut stand when installing a VFD or power panel to it? I loathe interpreting Article 250 on this one guys! Is it necessary to run a separate bonding conductor to the building grounding system as in a column ground? Any help would be appreciated.
