we have been following a method for our transformers and power supplies that is, we run the secondary side of these components from neutral to a separate ground stud.

my question is can I run the secondary side of these components to the actual ground bar? if not, is there a reason for not doing that? I do not find anything in the NEC aswell.

Are you asking if it's permissible to use a ground bar in the transformer for connecting XO, GEC, SSBJ, etc,
That is allowable as long as the ground bar is not mounted on a vented panel {450.10(A)}

Augie thank you for your reply.

we are using Square D transformers and the max will be 2kVA. do I still need to connect the secondary side of the transformer to separate the ground screw? or can I run it directly to the ground bar?

the ground bar is mounted on the back panel.

Where ever you bond the XO is where the GEC is connected, that may help with your decision.
I have wired a lot of SqD 5 kva transformers and they were all wire leads, so I did the bonding in the disconnect.
