Eversource the local power company requires a metal long sweep 90 at the pole base. Both sides of the sweep are PVC FA's to conduit. What kind of connection to the pipe would be practical. A two screw bonding clamp rated for direct burial. Do they make one? Drill and tap a lug to the pipe? Then a #8 solid to the bonding wire on the pole. Thanks

I would not want to see a hole drilled into the raceway. There are a number of clamps that would be suitable. The #8 may not be large enough. This would be a supply side bonding jumper and sized per Table 250.102(C)(1) in the 2014 code...Table 250.66 in older codes.

Don't have my code book handy, but I recall an exception to bonding metal sections of conduit if they are buried in earth to a certain depth.

250.80 exception

The elbow must be 18" or lower to qualify for the exception.

Bonding the sweep

I just looked at the solid copper #6 the utility installed coming down the pole and it is connected to a ground rod driven tight against the pole. Normally the bonding wire is secured all the way to the bottom of the pole and across the bottom. Apparently, that wire was broken during an accident and the bonding was repaired using the grounding rod. Personally I like the clamp.
