We are working on a waste water treatment plant expansion. NEC 250.104 speaks of water piping system which I take to mean the water supply for a building. I think the water pipes which are used to process the waste water would fall under the other metal pipes in this article. Anybody have experience in this area?

No experience, but I would think 250.104(B) would apply, same as the drain pipes in any house - sized to the OCPD that you think might energize it. Just my off-the-cuff thought. :)

Edit to add - I bet the assembly of the pipes is very electrically continuous, too, just guessing.
