Re: Bonding

We need some more information:
What type of Delta service, corner grounded, ungrounded, or midpoint (wild leg)
"Bond" what?
Is this a service or a transformer?

Re: Bonding

Tom Baker - thanks for info - will try to clarify my question - it is an ungrounded delta or corner grounded delta. I am using non-metallic underground cable going to an irrigation machine 2,000 feet away with ground rods driven and checked with an AMCI ground rod meter. I drive rods until I get 25 ohms or less. The reason I do it this way is because lightning does not bother my cable as much if I don't have continuity between public power and my irrigation machine. Thank you.

Re: Bonding

OK what do you need to bond?
Even with an ungrounded delta service the raceways and enclosures are still bonded, its just the service itself is not bonded.
Also there is a big difference between an ungrounded delta and corner grounded delta. You are allowed to operate a system ungrounded under certain conditions see section 250.21.

Section 250.20 B lists what systems have to be grounded, I bet your irrigation system requires grounding.

You state bonding, do you mean bonding to a grounding electrode system?
