Bottom feed/top feed reversible load panel

The above panel is reversible for bottom feed, but in so doing so the front cover has to be reversed and now the front cover latch will be reversed. The latch spring in GE panels usually fail in about 10 years and will result in cover not latching. Is there a way to reverse the dead front panel so the cover can still be left hinged?

Go to true panelboard instead of a "loadcenter"?

Works with Square D panelboards anyway.

I would see if I can remove the inner trim panel, flip it over, and put it back together.

You might have to adjust the guts height, and/or drill new holes in the enclosure lip.

Typically there is more room needed for conductor bending on the supply end is reason you can't simply flip interior when a one piece style cover is used.

Go to a real panelboard instead of a loadcenter and the main cover more likely to have door/opening centered and the fillers for non utilized spaces varies depending on components/options installed on the panelboard section.
