I was currently installing a new 400a meter and two transfer switches for a new residential home and i used a 2" pvc coupling to go between the meter and one of the t switches and i used a box adaptor to marry the meter and the t switch and fail for doing so the inspector said that the box adaptor is only rated for pvc but i couldn't find anything suggest so anybody else have this problem

Sounds like you have "PVC" I am confused 🤔. Do you mean he is saying the cabinet/enclosure has to be PVC? If so complete hogwash . It is up to him to show you something that restricts a BA to only PVC enclosures. Tell him unless he can show you something that prohibits, you are going to do it and he is going to love it and pass it! 🤗

Until he quotes you an article or listing requirement, you and he are just having a difference of opinion.

So he has a Box adapter through the meter enclosure KO into a 2" coupling and the same on the transfer switch side. I'm not seeing the issue but the OP needs to clarify what "only rated for PVC" means.

he said that its only ul listed for a pvc enclosure not a metallick one but i didn't not find that and i say its hog wash as well but i put two 2"males instead just to get the pass but i use box adaptors all the time and i never heard of that before it is Naples fl there kind strange sometimes one time they said that a 1/2 liquid flex male / seal tight listed to thread into a 1/2 pvc female
