Why not? The ground as you say is connected and the screw helps hold firm as well... plus, if you use the one brand, it insulated the switches from each other or the wider outlets from each other, so you don’t have to wrap tape around them...Can I use plastic box extenders for metal boxes. Somehow I think you meant the EGC. As mentioned, I think it would be compliant, but the inverse of a plastic box with a metal extension would not.
