Box Listing

Does a junction box need to be listed?
Are custom junction boxes allowed by article 314?

I only saw the boxes for wet locations need to be listed.

If a custom box was constructed with the standards as stated in 314.40 and 314.41 would that be compliant?

The application is a custom size for feeders constructed by a sheet metal fabricator.

There is no requirement for them to be listed in the code, but some AHJs want them listed. There are a number of custom box manufaturers as well as some sheet metal shops that can build UL listed boxes.

as long as they meet the requirements, and te AHJ does not have issue then you are good to go.
