I am working on a landscape job that has a BBQ made with cinder block. Is there a type of box to use or do I just use one listed for concrete embedment. Thank you. I would appreciate any information on this?

It's normal to use masonry boxes or standard four squares with mud rings sized to the depth of the block and finish on the block. I'd probably run 3/4" PVC to the box depending where it's being fed from, use a heat gun to adjust the PVC. Put your ground screw in when you put the box in because the hole might get mudded up. Tape up the box so mud can't get in it. Run tie wire through the back of the box and out the tape on the front so you can pull on the box to set depth. Watch the masons to make sure the box doesn't get pulled out to far. Better to have it back a little than to far out.

Assuming this is outdoors i would used a plastic WP box. Now something to keep in mind is you will need a bubble cover and it needs gfci protection. You must keep rain and beer out of it

This isn't a direct match to your OP description, but, depending upon the mason and the masonry work, maybe this will work?
