When you guys install a 4" box to a metal stud I assume you install/buy the box that has a stud bracket already attached?

We very rarely use boxes with the brackets attached. We use a Caddy H23 for mounting to the side of the stud or an adjustable box support bar.

What the reasoning to use a separate bracket? Thanks.
Saving on inventory? Instead of multiple box types, one box and one bracket, as needed, especially since the brackets are suitable for wood or metal studs.

Metal studs flex alot so these offer better back of box support. Both the telescoping bracket and the h23 work good and there are others. Some people use a little plastic back of box support and a regular bracketed box but those a flimsy in comparison. The h23 when used with a 2 gang mudring and 4 square is also easier to remove and fish mc to so long as it wasn't hard piped in.
