I have a motor that has a brake rectifier with a 460VAC single phase input and a 205VDC output. I am working on the SCCR rating for the system. Does the rectifier need to be included? I cannot find any information for this and so far the manufacture has not been able to give me any SCCR

Rectifiers are by nature semiconductors...even in conduction they are resistors. The AC rating is RMS so you can get roughly 150-200% of name plate max current out of it if it is dead shorted and it won’t last very long. Since it is a load though I don’t see where SCCR really applies. For example we need to know the SCCR of the relay feeding it since if it shorts out the relay needs to withstand the maximum short circuit current from the power supply. But as the load it might be a source but rating it makes no sense. That’s like SCCR of a light bulb or a motor.
