I have a project under construction where some branch circuits for small 277v AC units have to be swapped between panels. The issue is that some of the branch circuits are already ran (but not terminated), and therefore the wire color within the MC Cable is already in place and some of them may not be able to land on the corresponding phase color within the panel.
Would it be code compliant to re-identify these branch circuit wires with marking tape? I can find where this is acceptable for "Feeders" but cant seem to find it for branch circuits.
All these branch circuits are 277v single phase. Applicable code is NEC 2011 for this one.
