What section of the code would be the correct spot to locate information about a branch circuit conductor that will cross buildings? This circuit is not a service feeder but is a branch circuit. I have a lot of capacity left on a substation transformer and switchgear in one building and a new load in an adjacent building that would be a good fit. The buildings are only 20' apart. All of the substation transformers in this complex are feed from the same service feeder.

Part II of article 225 deals with feeders and branch circuits supplying seperate buildings or structures.

Keep in mind there are tight limitations on how many circuits can pas between buildings.

Also in the NEC there is no such thing as a 'service feeder'

There are:

  • Service conductors
  • Feeders
  • Branch circuits.

See article 100 for definitions.
