I’m looking to add 3’of EMT and extend a circuit that currently supplies a receptacle above a serving table to below it and reinstall the same device.

Existing 208V Commercial kitchen receptacle is not GFI protected.

Only adding new conductors from existing 4” sq box to new box. Will use existing box as a splice point and make it a junction box.

Do I need to change the breaker that’s currently there?

Thanks

To what, a GFCI? I don't see why, you are only moving the existing receptacle.

You might also want to check the Code to see if they are even required, no idea what you are on since you don't say.

GFCI protection is required for a receptacle in a commercial kitchen. Since you're only relocating an existing receptacle I don't know of a code section that would require you to add the GFCI protection.
