branch circuit sizing help based on nameplate

Hello all,

So, I have an Italian machine tool with the following nameplate info that confuses me on how I should size the branch circuit and OCPD.

200 V +/- 10%
12 KVA
63 A

Feeding it with 3 phase 208 (within 10%)

figuring 3 phase amps from KVA = 33 amps and thinking of #8 with a 70A OCPD

why does the machine state 63 amps (nothing on max OCPD) perhaps this is what they are trying to state?

I'm sure this is common and I'm missing something It's a CNC and motors are non-continuous

Thanks for the help on calcs!

Dan

that's what I thought Bob.

More info;

Perhaps I read the wrong field to calculate

There is another amp field on the nameplate that states 36 amps

the 63 amp field says AIn max, perhaps I have to look up this to see if it is talking about the max OCPD which would make sense.

Think I have to call the Mfg. Or find an Italian electrician. Maybe my company can send me to Italy, Ha!

Wire in the machines mains are approx #8 awg
