Project: Provide 240v power to two separate heaters. Each heater is 20A. Panel is outside building, heaters are inside (mounted on columns in warehouse).

The problem: Only enough room for one more two pole breaker in panel.

My question: Is it legal for me to take one conduit with one circuit inside out of the panel, then hit a jbox inside the warehouse, then bring two conduits out of the jbox to feed the two individual disconnects.

I figured a 2-pole 60A breaker in panel and two 30A disconnects. Wire size is tbd. I've looked all over my codebook and couldn't find anything at all saying that this is illegal to do, but I've also never seen anyone else have to do it this way so I think maybe I'm overlooking something.

Thanks for all your input!

Just feed a 4 circuit panel from the dp breaker slot in the panel. Or a larger panel if you anticipate more heaters.

Follow the rules in 240.21 concerning the length of your taps and provide the proper OCP at each disconnect. Your 60 amp circuit is then a feeder.
