What is the allowable number of branch circuits in 60 Amp sub panel.
As many as the panel is listed for. As long as the load does not calculate over 60 amps you could have 100 circuits- of course you wont find a panel like that.

Don't jump to conclusions. I have not seen or heard of a 100 circuit panel, but I know there are 84 circuit panels available, the mains are likely not 60 amp but nothing is to stop you from supplying it with a 60 amp feeder if the load is 60 amps or less.

I said there are no panels with a 100 circuits. My point was simply there is no limit other than the panel itself which I clearly stated-- I thought.

I know, but 84 isn't just too far behind 100, and I'm sure there are many out there that were not aware that you can get 84 circuit panels as it has not really been all that long since we were allowed to go beyond 42. Some people likely still are on older codes and still are limited to 42.
